🌿 Rethinking Packaging: High Barrier Paper with E-beam Technology
✅ A Sustainable Alternative to Plastic and Foil As global attention turns toward reducing plastic waste and creating recyclable packaging, high barrier paper has emerged as a key solution. To be a true alternative to PE film and aluminum foil, barrier paper must resist water vapor (WVTR) and oxygen (OTR) transmission — without compromising recyclability. At the core of this innovation is E-beam (electron beam) evaporation technology, a cost-effective, high-performance method for applying silicon oxide (SiOx) coatings to paper surfaces. ⚙️ What Is E-beam Technology? E-beam evaporation uses a focused electron beam to vaporize materials like silicon oxide in a vacuum chamber. The vaporized coating is then deposited evenly on the surface of the paper, forming a thin, transparent, and inorganic barrier layer. This method is widely used in the flexible packaging film industry — and now, it's being adapted to paper to offer an eco-friendly, recyclable alternative to multilayer plastic laminat

Sustainable Innovation in Cement Packaging: High-Barrier Extensible Paper from XIATECH Denmark
As global industries shift toward more sustainable solutions, the packaging sector faces growing pressure to eliminate plastic, reduce carbon emissions, and support circular economy goals. XIATECH DENMARK is proud to introduce a groundbreaking advancement in industrial packaging: high-barrier extensible paper, a 100% recyclable, PE-film-free solution tailored for multi-wall cement sacks. Why Traditional Packaging Must Evolve Cement and other dry building materials are typically packed in multi-wall sacks that rely on plastic film (PE) as a moisture barrier. While effective, PE film is not recyclable within paper waste streams and contributes to the packaging’s carbon footprint and landfill impact. Additionally, PE film complicates sack construction by requiring separate handling, non-gluing to paper layers (to avoid rupture), and specialized machinery. Introducing Our High-Barrier Extensible Paper XIATECH DENMARK’s high-barrier extensible paper overcomes these challenges by delivering

Production video of 100% recyclable barrier paper in China
Our production video introduce how to make 100% recyclable high barrier paper. Moisture and oxygen barrier paper packaging is one of the most important areas in the packaging industry. However, traditional solutions often rely on multi-layer bags combining paper with PE film or aluminum foil. These combinations are difficult to recycle due to the complexity of separating different materials, posing a significant challenge to sustainability efforts. For example, current cement sacks typically use three layers: extensible paper and PE film. By using our extensible high barrier paper, our clients no longer need to use PE film. This solution not only reduces the cost of PE film but also makes the packaging 100% recyclable, offering a more sustainable alternative. Starting from 2022, we have focused on developing high barrier paper using our expertise in electron beam vacuum coating technology. In November 2024, we began production of high barrier paper with varying thicknesses in China. Th

Mr.Henrik Lindskov introduction - High barrier paper vs copy paper -www.xiatech.dk
This experiment was carried out to make a comparison between our high barrier paper and the standard copy paper in terms of their performance. The barrier paper used in the demonstration has a weight of 32gsm and a WVTR of less than 1. The video visually showcases the efficacy of the barrier paper in preventing the passage of water and oil. These specialized papers serve as an environmentally friendly packaging option in place of plastic or aluminum foil, providing unmatched protection and ensuring sustainability in packaging solutions.
