Why Traditional Packaging Must Evolve
Cement and other dry building materials are typically packed in multi-wall sacks that rely on plastic film (PE) as a moisture barrier. While effective, PE film is not recyclable within paper waste streams and contributes to the packaging’s carbon footprint and landfill impact.
Additionally, PE film complicates sack construction by requiring separate handling, non-gluing to paper layers (to avoid rupture), and specialized machinery.
